Shukokai Karate Combinations
Within the Shukokai Karate Association syllabus, there are 10 basic technique combinations that students must learn and demonstrate as part of their gradings. Early gradings require only a few of these combinations, while higher-level gradings demand proficiency in all ten.
Step forward, right-hand face punch followed by a left-hand thrust.
Project forward, right-hand stomach punch followed by a left-hand thrust.
Project forward and change hands, left-hand face punch followed by a right-hand thrust.
Right leg front snap kick and land forwards, right-hand face punch followed by a left-hand thrust.
Right-hand stomach punch followed by a left-hand thrust, step with the right leg and perform a left leg front snap kick then after landing, right-hand face punch followed by a left-hand thrust.
Step back, right-hand knife hand block, left-hand stomach punch followed by a right-hand thrust.
Project forward, left hand low block, right-hand stomach punch followed by a left-hand thrust.
Right-hand palm heel strike, left-hand stomach punch followed by a right-hand thrust (all movements are carried out as you are stepping forward).
Right foot sweep and land forwards, right-hand face punch followed by a left-hand thrust.
Right leg round kick and land forwards, left-hand stomach punch followed by a right-hand thrust.
